Spekes Mill is a working farm's edge: a path, a waterfall, a half-mile of cliff and sea. We let members in, ask them to look after it, and keep the numbers small.

This is private land. It has always been farmed, and is still farmed today. The access track, the parking, the beach itself — all of it is the responsibility of the family that owns Kernstone.
For years the path was rough enough that only locals used it. Then we tidied the track, and the internet noticed. The Association exists to keep the place we love from being loved to bits — by managing who comes, when, and how.
Members get a gate code, the option to camp by booking, and the run of the beach for surfing and swimming. In return, members agree to leave it exactly as they found it.

Some places ask to be looked after. This is one of them.
Everything you bring in, you take out. There are no bins. No exceptions for bags, bottles, dog mess or food waste.
Use the designated fire pit, or a contained stove off the ground. No disposable barbecues — they scorch the grass and start fires.
No amplified music at any time. Voices and acoustic instruments down low from 10pm. Mornings start at 8.
Day membership is gate-only. Overnight stays must be booked and paid in advance. Pitches are limited.
Walking pace on the track. Park where marked. One vehicle per pitch. No motorhomes over 6 metres.
Always near livestock, sheep, ground-nesting birds and other members' pitches. Always pick up.
The gate code is yours alone. Don't share it. It changes regularly — current members get the new one.
This is a working coast. Cliffs are unstable, tides change fast, the waterfall is slippery. Use sense and judgement.
A path. A waterfall. A half-mile of cliff and sea.
Membership is open, but it is by application. We'll send you the constitution, the code of conduct, the application form and payment details. Once you're signed up, you get the gate code and the booking channel.
We're a small operation. Allow a day or two for a reply, and longer in lambing or harvest.
The track leaves the lane south-west of Hartland village. Follow the brown National Trust signs for Spekes Mill Mouth, then the green gate marked with the Association sign.
